Patton Names New CEO on 25th Anniversary

GAITHERSBURG, Maryland, January 19 /PRNewswire/ --

- Robert R. Patton takes the helm on Patton's silver anniversary,
steering the network-equipment manufacturing firm toward continued long-term
growth and profitability.

Patton Electronics - the leader in business and carrier-class network
access, connectivity, VoIP and triple-play equipment - has named Robert R.
Patton as Chief Executive Officer.

The transition took effect on January 1, 2009, Patton's silver
anniversary.

Former CEO Robert E. will continue serving as Chairman of the Board of
Directors.

Robert E. (Bob) announced the transition during the company's annual
Global Sales Summit, where worldwide sales and senior management teams were
convened. Robert R. (Bobby) addressed the summit as CEO, outlining a
corporate strategy for ongoing growth and profitability.

"Our charter," Bobby explained, "is to build a dynamic, technology
business that endures for generations Our strategy is to build solid business
and personal relationships, while making a profit on every product, in every
business unit, every year."

So far, Patton is on course. Since incorporating on 1 January 1984,
Patton has achieved growth and profit every single year. Despite the 2008
global economic crisis, Patton expanded international operations, opened a
Southern Europe Operations Center in Milan, acquired OnSite Systems S10
SONET/SDH product line, and closed the year with profit.

During the 2001 telecom meltdown, as hundreds of companies failed,
downsized, and succumbed to acquisition, Patton achieved revenue growth and
profit.

"We insist on constant innovation," Bobby continued, "in every aspect of
operations - from sales, marketing and lean manufacturing to next-generation
data, VoIP and video technologies."

In September 2008 Patton's SmartNode(TM) 4961 solved VoIP
interoperability challenges for DECT, PBX, and FAX in ISDN deployments.
SmartNode(TM) VoIP gateways have won Internet Telephony Magazine's Product of
the Year every year since 2005.

During the 1990's Patton brought the first Ethernet extender to market.
Patton still dominates the enterprise long-range Ethernet market, and now
delivers multi-service transmission and transport systems to alternative
carriers.

A highly-diversified product line and aggressive marketing approach
contribute to Patton's stability. Today, Patton designs, develops and
manufactures a catalog of over 1,000 products, engaging customers in 120
countries, with offices in USA, Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, India,
Viet Nam and Lebanon.

Brothers Bruce, Bobby and Burt Patton founded the family-owned business
in their father's basement.

During Q1 2009 Patton will launch six products and showcase recent
innovations during March 3-8 at CeBIT Hall 13 Booth A58.
