SanDisk releases 32GB microSDHC card

Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 22 Mar 2010 9:48 User comments (21)

SanDisk releases 32GB microSDHC card SanDisk has announced they have begun shipping 32GB microSDHC cards, the largest capacity available for the memory card line.
Current microSD cards max out at 16GB but SanDisk had promised the 32GB cards would go into mass production in January.

Speaking of the microSD card and other new flash memory improvements, SanDisk said at that time: "The 64GB embedded memory, moviNAND, and the 32GB microSD card each greatly expand the data storage density of mobile devices, meeting customers' memory requirements and ushering in a new era of mobile and IT device capacity growth."

While 1GB, 2GB and 4GB versions retail for under $15 USD, this new 32GB card has an MSRP of $200.

Its about time. a 16GB card will run from 40-100$ so 200$ for a 32GB card is not insane, its jsut high.

Yeah, and it's not like the price won't come down like all other flash memory. 1GB thumb drive used to be a big deal. MP3 players used to hold 256MB of memory. Technology keeps on truckin'

These are already on sale for as little as ~80-90.

I would definitely spend sub-$100 on one. Have a link?

200 bucks would buy me a 2TB HD. I have little need for a 32GB microSD card though. I have a few 8 Gig. One I use for my nintendo ds and I haven't even used up half of that space.

Nevermind...the search link I saw when I posted that said microSDHC, but turned out to be a standard SDHC card.
