'PlayStation Meeting' event will reveal PSP2 next week Earlier this week it was reported that Sony will officially announce the upcoming PSP2 at an event in Japan on January 27th.
Today, multiple sources are reporting that the event will be called the "PlayStation Meeting."

PS Meetings used to be held annually, but there has not been one since 2005.

In 2005, Ken Kutaragi used the PS Meeting to show off plans for the PlayStation 3.

Sony will also use the event to outline plans for its networked entertainment services to share games, movies and music among handheld products, TVs and other devices.

In February, at the Mobile World Congress, Sony will show off the Sony Ericsson-branded PlayStation smartphone.

I still don't understand why they're making a Sony gaming phone and a PSP2 as separate devices. Maybe some light will be shed on this with the meeting.

there was an article couple weeks ago on this site and it says that the reason Sony making two devices is because they are trying to be like Apple selling two devices to make more money buy selling ipad and iphone by itself...

Some people like a dedicated portable that doesn't do everything. For me a Cell Phone and gaming device don't mix.

we all know what happened to N-gage or did that disaster of a gaming phone slip threw people nightmares unnoticed.
