'Metal Gear Solid' trilogy headed to PS3 in HD?

'Metal Gear Solid' trilogy headed to PS3 in HD? As was done with the 'God of War' collection, and soon with 'ICO/Shadow of the Colossus,' it appears that the classic 'Metal Gear Solid' trilogy will be re-released for the PS3, on Blu-ray and in HD.
The rumor comes via UK's Official PlayStation Magazine, who cites 'insiders.'

Metal Gear Solid 4 was released for the PS3 in 2008 and was met with rave reviews, with many calling it easily the game of the year.

It is unclear how the classic games will be reworked for HD (MGS was made for the PSX in 1998), but the God of War Collection sold very well, and included improved graphics and trophies.

I'd imagine it will be similar to the version they did for the Gamecube. The graphics were much much better on that one. It's a good game either way, I personally prefer the PSX version.

This is going to start to fanboy wars, but I gotta say, there have been a lot of Xbox 360 exclusive titles that later have gone to the PS3, but how many PS3 titles have come to the 360, if any (besides Grand Theft Auto IV)? I would love to play Heavy Rain, God of War 3, MGS4, Uncharted, and Killzone 3, just to name a few. I'm sure they can fit it on a few DVD's, and then 360 owners can install to HDD. I'm sure some P33 owners still would like to play some 360 exclusives.

Not to be a spiteful fan-boy but we do get Fallout DLC way before PS3 / PC users do.

As long as those exclusives remain 1st party games I don't see them coming out on XBOX 360.

Not to be a spiteful fanboy, and I would love the Fallout DLC, but PS3 HAS GT5, and it will NEVER come to xbox!

This would be great if true. I sold off my MGS Collection because I no longer have a PS3 that plays PS2 games. Reworked in HD with trophies and I'll probably play through all 3 of them all over again.

Please! :-) I've wanted this ever since I got a Slim PS3.

I've played the first two (Twin Snakes on the 'Cube and Substance on the original XBox) and am currently playing the fourth but would love to replay them in HD.

So much like Sony to cash in on classics, Remake this Remake that...it gets old. leave the classics classic. if you've got enough man power to graphically overhaul 3 games, you've got enough man power to make a new MGS.

Cliff hangers suck and MGS:4 left a big one.

In this case, I think you meant to say "Konami" not "Sony"
But yeah, I agree with the sentiment to a degree. Still, I haven't ever played "Shadow of the Colossus" and I will gladly pick up an HD version that doesn't chug.

for the record x-box fan boys we have given you a big, well in my eyes big Final Fantasy which was (until recently) a sony exclusive. funny though i would love to play halo on ps3 i really think the graphics engine in a ps3 would make halo stunning even though it is already this is coming from a die-hard playstation fan, i envy you x-box for that excelent piece of story telling and gameplay.
