Developers have already jailbroken Apple's latest firmware, 4.3.4, although if you own an iPad 2 you are out of luck, for the time being.
The new jailbreak will require a PC, unlike browser-based hacks of the past, but an untethered jailbreak is expected to replace the current one, soon.
Apple released 4.3.4 last week to close the exploit used to jailbreak 4.3.3 (as seen here).
