Rovio purchases Futuremark Game Studios

Rovio, the developers behind the 'Angry Birds' blockbuster franchise, has announced today the acquisition of Futuremark Game Studios.
FGS is owned by Futuremark, the company behind the popular benchmarking software, but is its own division.

Says Rovio Entertainment CEO Mikael Hed: "They are an incredibly talented and experienced team, and we are thrilled to have them on board. Rovio's success is founded on the excellence of our team, and Futuremark Games Studio is going to be a superb addition."

"I am proud to see the potential of our talented games team recognized by Rovio," adds Jukka Mäkinen, Futuremark CEO. "Futuremark will now focus on supporting gamers and industry with 3DMark, our professional grade benchmark which, in a new version to be released later this year, will allow unified gaming performance comparison across operating systems and form factors for the first time."

Rovio recently announced a partnership with Wal-Mart to offer merchandise to million of Americans.

I bought angry birds space the first day it came out and it was fun UNTIL i paused the game and lo and be hold advertisement of their products which pissed me off a little then come to find out after paying 2.99 plus tax for the app it only includes 2 worlds and you have to pay even more if you want the third world.
I guess that's what i get for trying to support the developer and not pirate my game so rovio you can kiss my ass i will never buy from you again.
