MetroPCS raises price of top unlimited plan

MetroPCS raises price of top unlimited plan MetroPCS has announced that its unlimited-everything plan will be getting a price hike, and others will get throttling.
The plan, which used to cost $60, will now cost $70 per month. For $70, users get unlimited voice calls, texting, 4G LTE data, email and Rhapsody and MetroStudio video on-demand. The music or video services are new additions, and may be worth the extra price as they normally cost $10 per month, each.

Metro's $60 unlimited plan, which removes the MetroStudio, will begin throttling data after 5GB. The $50 unlimited plan will throttle after 2.5GB and removes both Rhapsody and MetroStudio. A $40 plan is available but speeds are throttled after just 250MB.

Says the regional carrier: "Even though 4G LTE speeds may be reduced, because of the 'always on' nature of our 4G LTE network, the experience for the majority of what a customer does on a daily basis, like Facebook, web surfing, etc., should continue to be solid."

Soooooo they're pulling a Verizon/AT&T thing by throttling customers data and restricting their customers by pulling their wallets out of their ass to get better unlimited access by paying more? What the hell is happening to these companies that can just lord over us by ignoring what we really want unlimited everything, and dont tell me that they don't have the bandwidth for these cell towers caue I'm sure as hell not believing that polished turd one bit! Greed begets greed. If they think they are doing themselves a favor, think again. They're hurting us, not helping us!!

Like a drug dealer... "The first one is free."

Got you hooked on smartphones, now you have to pay to play.

There is more to life then spending most of the day on FB, telling the whole world you just got out of bed, took a dump now I'm getting dressed. What has been implanted into your mind is now a "must have."

If I am not mistaken they are now charging the same amount as Sprint w/o the contract. Essentially it is like your buying a phone full price without a contract from Sprint except with a terrible selection of phones to choose from.

Not really. Metro PCS's unlimited $70 plan included calls to and from land lines. Sprint's does not. That plan is $99. Plus Sprint charges $10 extra if you have a 4G phone. For the same exact same plan on a 4G phone it's $70 vs $109.

etroPCS sucks terrible horrible customer service.

For over a week I argued, begged and pleaded at every level, 6 store reps, 6 online reps. In my opinion all of them incompetent and many rude. Autopay account deleted and recreate at least 4 times. Everyone keeps saying the same thing just go in and update to account info. The account was even verified by a Corporate Center supervisor. Phone service has been shut off twice. Even after the store manager at the corporate Center assured me that it ad been restored.

Then I found the emails for coroprate HQ. Two emails to three execs and the problem was fixed in two hours. You do the math. Corporate email, fax number, phone number and my complaint letter is at SwensonStudio MetroPCS.htm

I sweitched to Virgin. Better cheaper phone, cheaper plan, better coverage, much better customer service.
