Google+ hits new important milestones

Google+ hits new important milestones Despite the general consensus that the social network was dead, it appears Google+ is actually thriving.
Vic Gundotra, the Senior Vice President of Engineering for Google has posted some new milestones for the network today:

This week we also hit an important milestone--over 400,000,000 people have upgraded to Google+. It was only a year ago that we opened public sign-up, and we couldn't have imagined that so many people would join in just 12 months. While Google+ is all about creating a better experience across Google, it's also a destination. And here too, I'm happy to report that we have just crossed 100,000,000 monthly active users on Google+ (plus.google.com and mobile app).

Additionally, the company announced the acquisition of Nik Software, the company behind the popular SnapSeed photography editing app for iOS devices.

Or those of us with YouTube channels were forced into one. Though, I'm not sure if I have one or not. lol I never check the Gmail account they made me use for my channel. lol

This number is incredibly misleading. Every new gmail account (including those set up for Android phones) now tries to force you into a Google+ account, as well. Thank God I had a grandfathered account =p .

AGREED!!!!!

I signed up through friend invite first day..........never used since. Total crap, totally useless, and actually more lame than Facebook.

Seriously, Google could shut down Google+ tomorrow without notice and NO ONE would notice.

I would notice it. I use it all the time. If you compare it to Facebook, you got it all wrong. It is more like Twitter. The hangout feature is very good. I love it. G+ has a lot of potential.
