Samsung halts all sales and exchanges of exploding Galaxy Note7

Samsung halts all sales and exchanges of exploding Galaxy Note7 Samsung has frozen all sales of their much-maligned Galaxy Note7 smartphone as reports of the device exploding continue despite a recall and replacements.
U.S. carriers had begun allowing immediate no-questions-asked exchanges for any phone, and airlines had banned the device while on passenger planes. All of this happened after Samsung had already recalled earlier versions of the phone but the fires kept on coming.

"Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device," said Samsung, effectively closing the books on the handset. Samsung had already recalled 2.5 million faulty Note7 devices.

So much for the "iPhone killer"......

This model wasn't designed to kill or even compete with the iPhone; Apple does not offer any phablets. I'd like to imagine that this would destroy Samsung's business entirely...but consumers tend to keep buying from companies like Samsung and Apple no matter what is wrong with the devices. People will even buy the note8; assuming Samsung doesn't change the name.

I'm not getting why people think Samsung is finished. They still have S7 Edge that beats the latest iPhone as far as functionalities are concerned. The Note series is for the people who need to write "notes" or the like that is helped by a capable stylus.

I'm pretty sure it is for older people who don't have the greatest eyes anymore...just about everyone I know over 55 has one...and they all still have the stylus which means they never use it.
