FrostWire developers have replaced the BitTorrent engine with the latest from the Vuze/Azureus project, they’ve also replace the java runtime with the latest one from Oracle and this should eliminate binary incompatibility issues some Windows XP users had with the 5.6.x series.
The old chat tab is gone and it’s been now replacd by an IRC Web Client so now FrostWire boots up a bit faster.
Upgrades to search include integration with Torrents.fm a new torrent index with over 3 million torrents and tens of millions of files to search from, as well as bugs and crash fixes.

Please test throughly, the newest most important features are:
Share files locally via Wi-FI/LAN. You will now be able to make files publicly available on your local network, if you have more than one computer running FrostWire, or Android devices running FrostWire 1.0, you will be able to share files between devices. This is a very powerful feature for teams in offices, schools and for media sharing at home. It's never been easier to share the pictures and videos on phones with all the other devices running FrostWire. We've done this using a clean HTTP protocol and UPnP discovery/announcement mechanisms.
New Video Player, you should now be able to play most popular video formats right from FrostWire, including YouTube video search results can be streamed before downloading them.
Audio preview before download, all results coming from Cloud services (currently only YouTube and SoundCloud) can be played before you download them. We'll be adding more cloud services in future releases.
Please test throughly, a number of improvements have been made all around during the last months, the sooner you guys let us know about bugs or if it's good to go the sooner we'll be able to release.

Fixes a possible freeze reported by some users when the configuration wizard is shown.
Fixes issue when a user changes default Gnutella Save Folder and unchecks Sharing finished downloads. Individually shared files from the old Save Folder would still be shared. Now all individually shared files will be unshared if you uncheck this setting.
Now users don’t have to re-start to stop seeding after they’ve changed their torrent Seeding Configuration. All torrents old and new will stop seeding as soon as the setting is applied.
Better wording to explain on which networks files are being shared on, Gnutella or BitTorrent.

Improved .torrent metadata file sharing
Automatic .torrent sharing has been reimplemented to correctly share .torrent files you use, thus enabling more torrent metadata file content on the gnutella network as FrostWire 4.18.6 and further versions is adopted by the community.
.torrent files have now been included as a search type
Being a BitTorrent client it was unnatural not having a .torrent file search.
The more the community uses FrostWire for BitTorrent, the more search results will be available under this search type.
Other important updates for this first release of 2010 include bugfixes on Theme Handling, the Console Tab dissapearing, a lot of code cleanup, 2 reported crashes fixed and a slightly smaller installer compared to the previous version.
Next releases will improve BitTorrent support and antivirus integration for windows users.

FrostWire 4.13.5 is now available for MS Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. Major updates improve network bootstraping and peer discovery. 4.13.5 includes improvements on the Chatroom tab, Audio Previews and more.
