Wii dominates November hardware sales

Why is the PS3 falling back? Is it because of its price? Or is the NXE that good?
I know why the Wii is winning though...

dude its falling back cuz it costs more than anythin else and cuz it hasn't been hacked yet

The wii is grabbing the non-testosterone having audience and shatting on the competition. Elderly people, kids, and chicks are all buying the wii leaving only guys to decide on the 360 or ps3 and 360 is winning that sidebattle. Nintendo has this war in the bag.G wonder if Nintendo had some of those consoles manufactured in china with some special addiction chemicals( i know nintendo is a japanese brand its a bad joke). Aside from a crazy outandish idea like the one i just stated I just dont get the wii's enormous success. Bad graphics,bad technology,cheesy marketing,decent game selection= winning the war.


On another note why is it that people say the ps3 is gaining fround and looks to make a push next year when they've put out already most of their big exclusives and new titles? As well as almost every month the ps3 is trailing both the wii and 360. I think its fair to say Sony's chances in this race is as good as done. It all doesnt matter a whole lot to me i pick the console best for me each generation. Last gen i owned a ps2 and gamecube this gen it was a 360 so we'll wait and see what they have instead for us next go round

Globe, I think what you meant to say is that the Wii has underpowered technology (compared to 360/PS3) not bad technology. Bad technology would be the 360's idiotic design of the GPU and X-Clamp heatsinks that cause overheating and the RRoD. Another example could be the initial slate of 360 DVD drives that fail to spin up, open trays or eat discs! (You'd think MS would've learned from their failed Thomson drives in the Xbox 1.)

Anyhow, I've said enough times on other threads why the Wii shouldn't receive so much hate. Now I'll go back to my tea party and playing with my dollies, since I'm not man enough for a "real" gaming console.

True i should have used the term lesser technology not bad technology. Im not saying real man but you shouldnt be naive in thinking the average 16-30 year old male are playing the wii heavily aside from 1-2 games unless their drunk at a fratparty which in itself brings some manliness to it. Im no jock nor a testosterone filled punk. Your statement that your going to go play with dollies and have your tea party yet again is idiotic for the notion that its like me saying the average person who watches the chick show Grey's anatomy is more than likely to be female and some guy comes and posts some childish remark saying somethign to spite what ive said. You are if your a male 16-30 in the minority for owning the wii for personal use.

Also why didnt you respond the the other flaws i stated the wii having which again only owners of the wii would try to stand up for. Im not knocking the wii its done amazing things but its just my stance on a video game forum to state that the wii is quite the anomaly.Even pogs had their day in the sun so nothing suprises me as far as consumers wants.

Tell me how the Wii is out selling the others when it is in short supply and is very limited.

The short supply is only relative to the large demand. 10 pizzas is a lot to a pizza parlor with no customers...its all relative dude.The better question is how is something cheap and easy to make always in short supply?Wouldnt it be cost effective to open up another manufacturing plant...at $6.oo per console sold they made 12 million bucks last month in the U.S alone.

Just out of curiosity, when was the last time wii wasn't on the top of the monthly console sales?

Kids.... younger kids...

whats hard to get and must be good because of it.. the wii... what is on alot of kids wish list a Wii what happend last year they ran out... so whats still on the same list this year....

i have a wii and it sucks... sure the snes games rule.. but i play it so little looks so bad on many games like codwaw i put it on my computer played the second lvl side by side and went dam this looks So bad.... no explosions water looks puked out... but its a port so what do you expect..

I would have to strongly disagree here. Price is the issue holding the PS3 back. If i could have gotten new PS3 for the same $330 i paid for my Xbox360 i would be the owner of a Wii and PS3. PS3 was my first choice by heart but I do love my 360.

@kik...the NXE is great but it isnot all that. Not too much diff. Some even prefer the older interface.

I'd have to agree with the price being the problem with sales, yes I know that they arent making money off each console sold and yes the price is well worth it with the features it has. But especially at this time of year we're dealing largely with a market of uneducated buyers who when comparing two things will pick one over the other because of the price rather than what it provides. Especially when the competitor is half the price.

I'm not saying it would be a good thing for Sony to drop the price business wise, I'm just saying that its whats clogging its sales right now.

Oh.. I've used the new dashboard before, it does look better than the last one IMO but now I know why the PS3 is falling back. Price.
2-3 months ago I said no to a price cut for the PS3 but I think it needs one, even though Sony will be losing lots of money.

Didn't see any listed. We all know DVD's can be played on it with Homebrew, but even without that playback, it's a big whoopee as most of us have multiple players in the home, unlike when the PS2 launched years ago.

The only other limitation I see is storage capacity; they need an upgrade path or open up the SD card options.

I really don't see GFX as that big of a deal. Sure, some games (Madden, I'm looking at you) are awful looking, worse than a Genesis. However, there aren't many games that floor me on 360 either. The occasional title looks outstanding (COD4) but other games still look Xbox1 like (Halo 3!)

Honestly, I'm happy the Wii has the GC ports and BWC, so I can play those games and sold off my GC years back to make room in my cabinet!

I want a Wii for Christmas. It was the big console this year.
I thought that the 360 was going to outsell the Wii due to it coming out 1 yr earlier

My Wii collected dust while I played my PS3 until I installed the Homebrew Channel... I still don't play it that much but at least I turn it on...

There just aren't enough keep-you-playing games. Only game I really like on the Wii is Super Mario Galaxy but that's about it :(

NXE is a joke. Its not innovative nor original. Microsoft has taken elements from the PSP's XMB and the Wii's avatars. The good feature which I really like is the Netflix streaming. Good attempt though.

Ha ha.... I thought i was the only one who noticed that LOL. Love netflix as well but do all the movies i stream have to be such poor quality?? They dont look as good as some VHS movies.

Yep, MS playing the ol' catch up and copy what you've got game. Nothing new to their territory.

I really like Live and the Dashboard service, and how the OS is similar to Windows, but the NXE really disappointed me. Not to mention you can't use the avatar feature on a banned console, because it depends on Live, which is obviously blocked.

i think another reason behind why so many people are turned away from the PS3 is the overheating. i understand that they have gotten a lot better as time went on but no matter how many times you tell a person that there is only a chance it will overheat, they still don't want to spend 3 to 5 hundred dollars on something that will literally melt itself while you are playing, a simple psyclone inter cooler will solve the overheating problem, but most people's thoughts are why do i need to buy something else when it shouldn't even be a problem and should have be solved by Sony. understand i don't hate the PS3's at all, i do like them i just don't like how Sony tried to recoup some of the costs and losses by making people buy PS3 games for their PS3 not the exact same game for the PS2 that is twenty dollars cheaper that would work on the first four models of the PS3. the same 80GB PS3 with the serial number CKXXXX could have 2 usb ports or four usb ports, could be backwards compatible with the PS2 games or could not, and now there are what 7 different mobos? aside from making nearly everyone confused and scared about investing in a gaming console that changes every month, they have pushed a lot of people away.

i think sony would have crushed M$ if they offerd a none blu-ray model at about $299 still with all the other goodies just no blu considering that blu-ray is a more upscale tech it should be in a higher priced sku.
