Apple offers patent settlements to Samsung and Motorola

Apple offers patent settlements to Samsung and Motorola According to multiple credible sources, Samsung and Motorola have been approached by Apple who is asking for $5-$15 per handset in patent licensing fees.
Microsoft took a similar approach, and has managed to extract around $10 per handset from over 40 percent of the world's Android makers. The software giant is still fighting with companies that refuse to pay up, including Motorola and Barnes & Noble.

According to the same sources, Apple doesn't care about the money they will make from Android, but care more about making Android more expensive for resellers.

Apple, HTC, Motorola and Samsung remain embroiled in lawsuits across the world over patents relating to their smartphones and tablet devices that will likely not all be settled for years to come.

Well this is proof that if you've spent enough on lobbying "politicians" extortion is legal.

Um, so pretty much you are saying that you want to sell more expensive products and make more money anyways, and want the android to make less money.

I think Apple is trying to make Android more expensive to justify the premium they charge for their products.

Exactly. How else can they continue to bilk more out of their Pavlovian flock?

Just look at the new ipud HD coming out tomorrow... Already their lat minute lubing their constituiants for the ritualistic sodomization over the fact their not going to get what they originally wanted.

But then like a Baptist minister, the mucky mucks will sell them a bill of shit--- goods & convince them that this device is better than the original design & the love will keep on giving...

Less is more... reverse psychology.
