PSP 2 will have touch-sensitive controls?

Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 20 Aug 2010 2:36 User comments (7)

PSP 2 will have touch-sensitive controls? According to "three separate development sources" who spoke to Eurogamer, the next generation PSP will be the same size as the current PSP-3000 model, but will include touch-sensitive controls on the back of the device.
Each of the three sources say they have both seen and used the new PSP, describing the display as "rich and detailed."

The main new feature, however, is the way new games are controlled, with the touch controls.

Sony is still developing the handheld, and the company has been showcasing the prototypes with first-party games over the past few weeks.

The company has also already "settled on a business model" but that is still unclear. A digital-download only model, similar to that of the PSPGo, is likely.

Two of the sources claimed a holiday 2011 launch is imminent.

At least I don't think it will be a sequel to PSPGo, I think they realized how badly that flopped. If anything it will be a choice of disc or digital.

Yes but other websites got the same news from the same guys, literally IGN was there speaking to these people in Germany when the news hit, and already stated that these "rumors" are to be taken with a grain of salt until Sony confirms it.

Which is true, and although Sony could go digital only; they already admitted PSPGo was a mistake if only because it was too soon, *then blamed the public because apparently poll results showed the public was ready..* yeah uhm anyways. Sony usually doesn't make stupid mistakes like that often. I guess maybe I hopeful they wake up and return to the greatness that ended during the PS2 era.

Ok...someone please explain the difference between regular controls and "touch sensitive" controls.
