WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook are all down, globally

All major Facebook's properties - Instagram, and WhatsApp - are experiencing a global hiccup. All services are either unavailable or having problems as of now.
The problems started around 17:00 UTC and have continued at least until now, according to thousands of Twitter messages and monitoring sites such as DownDetector.

Some of the services seem to be working partially. WhatsApp users are reporting that normal text-based messages can be sent normally, but messages including multimedia cannot be sent. Instagram showed just an error message on its frontpage. Also, WhatsApp calls seem to be working only for some users.

It is not known what has caused the outage, but Twitter hashtags such as #whatsappdown are trending globally.

Facebook itself seems to be working for most people, while WhatsApp seems to have the most serious problems.

EDIT 20:36 UTC: Sending text messages via WhatsApp and Messenger seems to be working, but sending images or videos through the services doesn't work.

Browsing Facebook seems to be working, but sharing or posting anything to Facebook seems to throw an error.

I didn't get a messenger notification, until I opened it up on my phone.
Facebook is quite down on both PC and phone, however.

We put the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra through a very, very long review process. The $1800 mopping robot vacuum is almost perfect, but its obstacle avoidance was surprisingly bad, considering the price - and compared to its competitors.
