On 1st of January, 2006, a new copyright legislation came into force in Finland that made it illegal to distribute tools that allow circumvention of technical copy protections. The legislation was approved by Finnish parliament and was based on European Union Copyright Directive, a law that each EU member state has to implement to their national legislations.
As AfterDawn Ltd is a company located in Finland, we have to obey the new copyright legislation and therefor, the software you were searching for, is no longer available. For more details on options we tried to find, how the law changed our site and more, please read this article.
Please, do not contact us asking where to find the tool you were looking for.

Owners of Matshita/Panasonic DVD drives be aware that this DOES NOT work to make them region free (although it's always worth downloading the free trial and having a go, of course).
Works wonderfully with our other laptop which has an NEC drive though.

Have been using this software since version 3 and it does and always worked fine.
It does exactly what it states, and i have had no compatibility problems, nor any problems with registration.
Great for someone wishing to unprotect DVD's in the background, while using their normal copying software, or simply just playing a disc from any region.

I ran across this software quite accidentally in a search. I have been using it for about 6 months now: And I LOVE it! No longer do I have to deal with the damn region settings of my DVD player/Burner, it removes the setting. Also, to whoever is having compatibility problems "With XP" - Well, I betcha it is not XP, I bet you have several non-compatible DVD ripping programs installed, and they all conflict. Remove everything but for these programs:
1) DVD Shrink
2) DVD Decrypter
3) Nero Burning Rom version 6.3.x.x and above, NON-TRIAL versions and also NON-Nero-Expressed versions
(This means, do not use a serial number for Nero that is for a version of Nero that locks out the Nero Buring Rom functions and only allows you the fucntions of Nero Express - You do not want to be limited to Nero Express)
4) Fengtao DVD Region + CDD Free
5) Alchohol 120%
Remove any Roxio, or GEAR crapola, these programs have NO use on a machine that is intended for DVD Authoring or Copying. I have had a LOT of conflicts with Roxio, so ergo, no more Adaptec ASPI Layer - You do not need it, all you need is the aspi layer installed by Nero, and all of these other programs do not conflict with it, and they are all small programs rather than bloat™ware, so they take up relatively little room on your hard drive, except for the DVD iso images you will store periodically.
I also have not tried AnyDVD, so I will not say whether it is bad or good, but I stick with these programs I have listed here, and they serve all my needs, from CD and DVD Authoring to Copying and Archiving. When I get AnyDVD I will try it out and say what I think of it over on the product page. All I know, is that I have had real good results with the combination of software that I have right now at this moment.
I also use Sonic Foundry - (Note: NOT SONY!) CD Architect and DVD Architect and there seems to be no conflict with those, either, they all use similar burning engines.
