BREIN

BREIN stands for Bescherming Rechten Entertainment Industrie Nederland, which translates to english as Protection Rights Entertainment Industry Netherlands. The word Brein is also Dutch for the word Brain. The group represents the music, movie and software industries in the fight against all forms of copyright infringement. It maintains contact and dialog with Government, law enforcement, trade and media in the Netherlands. Among its participants are NVPI, NUV, NVGD and the Motion Picture Association (MPA).

The group also works closely with the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) and the Business Software Alliance, which represent the global record industry and global software industry respectively. BREIN leads the fight against piracy in the Netherlands, including piracy on the Internet.

>BREIN also gets many P2P websites like BitTorrent trackers shut down if there is material that is subject to copyright being traded through them. One example of BREIN's enforcement against P2P websites was its part in the shutting down of ShareConnector, one of the largest sites that hosted eD2K links to files shared on the eDonkey2000 network.
