DVB-C is an acronym for Digital Video Broadcasting - Cable and means basically the (mostly used in Europe) digital TV broadcasting method that's done via digital cable networks.
Other digital TV broadcasting technologies developed by the DVB Project are DVB-T and DVB-S.
