DVD-RW DL

DVD-RW DL is a rewriteable Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) format developed and promoted by the DVD Forum. It is a dual layer disc (DVD-9) that can store up to 8.5GB of data on a single side, and so has two rewriteable dye layers. These discs first showed up in late 2004. DVD-RW DL competes with DVD+RW DL, which is the dual layer rewriteable DVD format offered up by the DVD-RW Alliance.

The recordable (write-once) version of DVD-RW DL is DVD-R DL.
