Mobile World Congress


The Mobile World Congress (MWC) run by the GSMA, is an event every February in Spain.

Up until 2006, the event was in Cannes, but it has outgrown its first city since then.

The event is massive exhibition for the mobile industry where they unveil new and future phones and phone designs.

Additionally, Chief Executives from manufacturers, carriers and vendors conference and speak with journalists.

Attendance has ballooned to 60,000 per year since moving to Spain.

MWC always takes place in the third week of February but this year it falls on February 27 - March 1, 2012, later than usual.

The theme for this year is: Redefining Mobile.
