.ogg

A .ogg file is an Ogg Vorbis audio file. Ogg Vorbis is a completely open, patent-free, professional audio encoding and streaming technology with all the benefits of Open Source. Since it is patent-free and Open Source, it stands out when put again MP3 and other formats.

Not only does it have the patent free and open source advantage over MP3, it also produces better quality and rivals new formats such as AAC.
