RAW Video

The term RAW, when used to describe video, means that the video data is uncompressed. RAW video, depending on resolution and frame rate can take up many GBs of space for small amounts of material.

RAW video is uncompressed video usually shot from camcorders that has not been compressed or edited yet. Most simple consumer tools cannot read RAW video until it has been put in a container such as MPEG.
