WiMAX Forum

The WiMAX Forum is a non-profit, industry-led organization that promotes the use of WiMAX products and services for telecommunications purposes.

The Forum certifies equipment based on the IEEE 802.16 wireless network standard to ensure interoperability between products and services that use the WiMAX brand and logo in marketing. The Forum states a goal of accelerating the introduction of WiMAX systems into the global market, feeding needs for high-speed broadband access and other services that can work on it (VoIP, IPTV etc.)

Additionally, the WiMAX Forum works closely with service providers and regulators to ensure that WiMAX Forum Certified systems meet customer and government requirements.

The Forum has hundreds of members, made up of operators, component vendors and equipment vendors in the telecommunications marketplace.
