AfterDawn: Glossary

Direct Access Archive

Direct Access Archive, otherwise known as DAA, is a proprietary format, similar to ISO, BT6, C2D, IMG and BIN, that was created by PowerISO as away to create CD/DVD disk images.

Making the format more powerful than competitors however is the ability to compress and add password protection. Unfortunately, because it is not open source, it is currently un-mountable by VirtualCloneDrive, Nero, or Daemon Tools.

You will need either MagicISO or PowerISO to open the files, but you can convert a DAA to an ISO using daa2iso or PowerISO.
